The FG335 was the first decent guitar I ever bought.
I remember paying £80 for this back in 1979. I also remember paying
£40 for a case. I had a simple pickup added to it which sound great
provided it went through a graphic equalizer.
Eventually I decided I needed a "proper" electro-acoustic and I
bought the FG 410.
Because of the difference in the age of the guitars they sound quite
different. The FG 335 has matured into a fully rounded mellow guitar.
However, both guitars have retained that wonderful bright Yamaha
sound. They are great for
recording and I used both of them on all the Shave albums.
I still use the FG 335 for acoustic gigs, especially with Dangerous
Circles.
